My research goal is to understand the mechanism by which focused ultrasound influences the healthy and the impaired kidney function and thereby identify new therapeutic or diagnostic strategies. The work focuses on two areas: (1) Analyzing the cellular and molecular pathway of the focused ultrasound and the glomerulus interaction. (2) Describing the effect of the focused ultrasound sonications on different injured kidney models (diabetic nephropathy, hypertensive nephropathy, contrast agent nephropathy).
