Recent Work
Emily Piltch is in her first year of the doctoral program at the Friedman School of Nutrition Science and Policy, Program in Agriculture Food and the Environment. Prior to joining the Friedman School, Emily spent the last three years working with communities in New Mexico to promote active living and healthy eating through built environment and policy change strategies. She was the Project Coordinator for a Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Healthy Kids Healthy Communities childhood obesity prevention grant with Cuba, NM and adjacent Navajo Communities. Prior to her work in New Mexico, Emily completed the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention-Public Health Prevention Service three year fellowship program.
Emily is currently working with her advisor, Tim Griffin, and a multi-state, interdisciplinary team on the USDA funded grant: Enhancing Food Security of Underserved Populations in the Northeast through Sustainable Regional Food Systems.
