After completing her fellowship in Endocrinology, Dr. Hariharan joined Cambridge Health Alliance, a teaching hospital affiliate of Harvard Medical School as a staff Endocrinologist where she provided care to the underserved community comprising primarily of people of Hispanic, Portuguese and Haitian Creole origin. During her tenure there, she served as a clinician-educator contributing to the education of medical students at Harvard Medical School (Patient-Doctor-II course) and of Internal Medicine residents.
In 2005, Dr. Hariharan joined a private endocrinology practice in Livingston, NJ with admitting staff privileges at Saint Barnabas Medical Center, Livingston, NJ. There, she provided clinical care Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism in the inpatient and outpatient settings. Thereafter, she served as an attending physician in the Division of Endocrinology at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, Hamilton, NJ.
Most recently she has transitioned back to Boston, and joined the Endocrinology Division faculty at Tufts Medical Center in the Fall of 2009. The focus of her work is on seeing patients with varied endocrine pathologies, and helping General Medical Associates with diabetes management. In addition, she has conducted educational talks on Pathophysiology of Adrenal Insufficiency and Diabetes Management to medical students and community physicians.
