Recent Work
Dr. Matta completed an Internal Medicine Residency at University of Massachusetts Medical Center in June, 2018. Prior to her residency, she spent 2 years as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the Division of Cardiovascular Medicine and Cardiac Imaging at the American University of Beirut Medical Center during which time she published two papers in the Journal of Clinical and Experimental Cardiology focused on diastolic dysfunction in individuals with a sedentary lifestyle and in cancer patients receiving chemotherapy. While at the University of Massachusetts, she was involved in a retrospective study on diabetes focused on whether dose reductions for the various types of basal insulin should be considered in preoperative patients. Her recommendations from the University of Massachusetts were outstanding and included comments such as “incredibly driven”, “dedicated physician”, “works tirelessly and efficiently”, “a pleasure to work with”, “true professional”, “mature, humble, delightful and deeply passionate about Endocrinology”. The Program Director at U Mass described her performance as “outstanding, awesome and aspirational”. We are very delighted that Dr. Matta matched with us and she is already demonstrating a high level of ability as she begins her training program as a Friedman Fellow.
